Multinational Observer Group (MOG) members attended a Fijian Elections Office workshop for political parties on 3 October at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva.
The MOG Observer Coordinator, Alice Cawte, addressed the party officials present and highlighted the role the MOG would play in observing the upcoming General Election. She said the MOG was committed to performing its role professionally, independently and transparently.
Ms Cawte welcomed any political party to contact her, or the broader MOG team, if they had matters they wished to raise.
“It is important, as key stakeholders, that political parties have confidence in the MOG and the Fijian election process,” said Ms Cawte.
“I welcome the chance to meet all political party leaders and their teams in coming days and weeks.”
